The size of the lip plate reflects one’s inner strength and beauty.

The Mursi tribe has faith in the mighty power of animals and the sky. They hail from the Lower Omo Valley and have minimal interaction with the modern world. Sadly, the Mursi's way of life is in jeopardy due to the Gibe III hydroelectric dam's construction in Ethiopia, which will necessitate their relocation to urban areas and a complete overhaul of their lifestyle.
