HAENYEO

Living in harmony with nature is the only way to survive.

Haenyeo means "sea women" in the Korean language. They depend solely on their ability to hold their breath and dive to the bottom of the ocean shelf. Haenyeo spend their entire lives diving, and are renowned for their free spirits, strong minds, and longevity. UNESCO has recognized Haenyeo culture by inscribing it on the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
