Berlin After 8 Years

Berlin Wall, March 2026

It had been more than eight years since my last visit to Berlin—and even then, I never really saw it. I was moving fast, chasing a 3:30 marathon.

This time, I slowed down.

Last week, between meetings, I moved through the areas around its most iconic landmarks with a Leica M11-P — working in short bursts of time, but with a different pace.

Instead of photographing the landmarks themselves, I focused on what happens around them—on the tension between the expected and the overlooked, between permanence and constant movement.

The images that follow are an attempt to see what remains when the obvious is removed.
