The Rebirth of Craftmanship

Japanese caligraphy master, Hakone 2008

In 2025, more images are created by AI than by humans. And this has an unexpected twist - one that makes us question what is real, what is meaningful, and why we create at all.

Making things faster, cheaper stems from capitalism’s main motive: profit.

This pursuit fuels the rise of AI. Many believe humanity is standing at the edge of a major shift — and there is no turning back. In one form or another, AI is here to stay.

But nature doesn’t tolerate imbalance. Every force eventually meets its counterforce.

Since the beginning of our existence, humans have searched for meaning. That is why form without substance never lasts. Sooner or later, we naturally seek to restore what has been lost.

It is hard to predict what the future jobs will look like in the age of AI. One thing I can see clear: the hunger for authentic, human-made art will grow.

That hunger will reignite a deep appreciation for craftsmanship - for art created meticulously by humans, for other humans to cherish.

Note to self: focus on honing the craft - shoot candid, use available light, avoid over-editing.
