A Ghost Town

In the 70’s Varosha was considered the top sea resort globally. Many celebrities were showing off during their vacation in Cyprus. However, a couple of years later Varosha became a ghost town. It fell victim to a war between superpowers using their proxies Greece & Turkey.

Today Varosha falls in the territory of Northern Cyprus and it is monitored by the United Nations.

I got lucky!

During my recent trip to the island, I’ve discovered that despite all political & COVID challenges I will be admired to enter.

Taking pictures was not easy.
